This pneumatic ballistic shock wave instrument utilizes a pneumatic ballistic shockwave system. It works by utilizing accelerated compressed air to create a pressure wave via a projectile. The compressed air is generated by an electronically-controlled ballistic-pressure compressor. Using elastic impact,the kinetic energy of the projectile is transferred into the probe of the applicator and then into the patient’s body.The motion of the impact body is transmitted to the tissue at the point of contact, from where it propagates divergently in the form of a radial pressure wave.
